Our Experience at The Makeup Show Dallas started early saturday morning with a brief but
awesome press chat with TMS director James Vincent ; in front of a packed crowd of Dallas-
Ft. Worth biggest beauty bloggers and influencers Vincent walked us through the structure of
the of the show and explained some of his favorite new products as well as cult classics that
every Pro should know. This year TMS included their first ever “The Face” competition; a live
competition where artist created masterpieces before our eyes guest had the opportunity to
witness makeup artist work tirelessly to create masterpieces in front of our eyes with looks
ranging from high fashion to special FX. This year was the first year that the popular NYX brand
was featured, NYX offers affordable products often found at mass retailers but has recently
branched into pro collections with rich lasting pigments. We saw new products and new faces at
TMS along with a new sense of purpose as several brands had collaborated to raise funds for
artist affected by Hurricane Harvey, including supplier Qosmedix who donated their proceeds
from the show. The TMS guide this year included a prestigious Makeup Show Pro awards
section acknowledging innovation in the PRO community winners included Makeup Forevers
HD foundation and awarded Jordan Liberty as artist of the year.

Each year the makeup show includes a makeup artist marketplace this is not the place to
pick up a new lipstick but rather a curated showroom of industry quality products designed to
help artist. The marketplace featured booths from national brands like MAC and artist favorites
like Senna Cosmetics and Cinema Secrets, many of those booths included live demonstrations
such as the special effects work seen on diamond sponsor Makeup Forever`s popular
booth.Beside the great product booths the market place also offered artist networking groups
such as LINC and Boss Babes to help connect MUA`s with opportunities. Working makeup
artist are always looking for tools and TMS provided the perfect place to experience the best
lighting and airbrushing techniques available from booths like Glamcor and Temptu every booth
included live products and trained experts who were able to consult with artist and help them
make sound purchases to suit their needs .One stand out booth we experienced was Cozette
their brushes provide optimal application and functionality and their staff was happy to let guest
play and explore as well as explain the benefits of their brushes and pigments.
After checking out the market place we sat in on Renny Vasquez who discussed his career
in makeup artistry with passion and humor. The show also featured noted makeup artist such as
Sam Fine, Kevin James Bennett and Danessa Myricks breaking down the information that
matters to artist such as how to build a kit, how to market yourself and applying makeup for
photography.

TMS is an awesome resource for any working artist and year after year has provided
Dallas best and brightest MUAs with a place to enhance their careers and build skills they can
take to the bank.
